ADMISSION PHILOSOPHY
Instituto Metropolitano A.C. (IME) is open to anyone interested in securing a Christian education, from first grade through twelfth grade, whom the school finds qualified for admission and who agrees (and whose parents agree) that he or she shall abide by IME rules. It must always be understood that attendance at IME is a privilege and not a right. Any student who does not conform to the school’s standards of conduct and/or who is unwilling to adjust to our environment must forfeit this privilege.
All students must be convinced they want to attend IME and agree to honestly and wholeheartedly apply themselves to “study to show [themselves] approved unto God” (2 Timothy 2:15, KJV). They also agree to be courteous and respectful to their peers, staff, faculty, and other daily associates.
IME admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origins to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in admissions policies and athletic and other school-administered programs. IME reserves the right to select students on the basis of academic performance, religious commitment, lifestyle choices, and personal qualifications including a willingness to cooperate with IME administration and to abide by its policies.
DOCTRINAL STATEMENT/
STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God (2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21).
We believe in submitting ourselves to the Bible’s principles as the final authority.
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Gen. 1:1, Matt. 28:19, John 10:30).
We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ as personal Savior (Ephesians 2:8-9).
PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION
IME is a school designed to provide a quality, affordable Christ-centered education for missionary children, striving to develop the whole person in an environment of community and parental involvement. IME as an educational institution believes that bringing up a child in Christ-likeness is primarily the responsibility and biblical duty of the parent. Our school exists, therefore, to assist in that education, without replacing the family’s role. IME has chosen to follow the United States system of education and, as a result of that decision, uses American English.
SCHOOL HISTORY
IME was formally established in 1987 by missionary families for their children. It began in 1984 as a home school coop, using the Life Pac system, and is now using a variety of curriculum with traditional classroom instruction. Graduates and former students of IME have gone on to become missionaries, pastors, college professors, and other professions in all walks of life.
SCHOOL SPONSORSHIP AND AFFILIATION
IME is independent in its ownership and is associated with ACSI – Association of Christian Schools International. It is a multi-denominational school that keeps Christ at the center of all decisions.
